Furze Mill is a picturesque four bedroom cottage situated in the Coastal National Park village cove of Nolton Haven. Originally a water mill during the late 19th Century, when Nolton Haven had a brief connection with a coal mining history, the Mill was loving restored and turned into a family home during the 1950's, with further renovation in the 1970's to the property it is today. With foot access over a private bridge from a stream running to the beach and situated just thirty four meters from the shore Furze mill is set in a dream coastal location.

Nolton Haven is ideal for families looking for a superb coastal area, with a gentle stroll taking you to the sheltered sandy beach right on the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (voted the world's second best coastal destination by National Geographic magazine in 2010).
Horse riding on the beach is also available in the village and there is an award-winning restaurant and pub located on the cliff edge a mile away at Druidstone, a short walk along the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The Druidstone offers spectacular views across the sea and gives you another chance to toast the sunset.

The Owner Says

Nolton Haven was originally a coaling beach where flat bottomed barges brought in at high tide were loaded when the tide was out from the coal produced by the Nolton and Newgale collieries with horses and ponies providing the muscle power for the carts. The Furze Mill was built in the mid 19th century, to provide winter feed from the abundant gorse growing around. It was a water driven mill, and evidence of the leat which fed the water collected from higher up the stream down to The Mill still being evident. (The Garage sits in the old mill pond).

The Furze Mill was purchased by my late parents, some 60 years ago, initially as a shell and built as a holiday retreat and then subsequently for their retirement. It has always been part of the family with every possible holiday over the years spent there. It has provided fantastic accommodation for friends and family during our youth as well as a comfortable home during my parents retirement. It is being sold very reluctantly but I appreciate it needs to be passed on to others who will enjoy it more than I am able to do so now.

The main focal point of the room is a exposed stone wall and fireplace, the room also has solid wood parquet flooring and French doors opening onto the sheltered patio area. The kitchen with oil fired Rayburn offers a very practical room with wall and base units. This leads to the sizeable utility room with quarry tiled floor and rear access.
